Manny being Manny
Nah, not Ramirez...Manny Pacquiao.
The man has 8 titles now.
I think that Floyd Mayweather should keep fighting his wife.
Did you see that fight? It wasn't even CLOSE, from the bell. The thing that strikes me most about Pacquiao is the fact that he just scares the hell out of everyone. I am too young to have seen Ali fight in his prime, but I did get to see young Tyson, and that is the only other time I've seen a guy inspire such a reaction from an opponent in the ring like that. The difference, though, and what makes him scarier, is the fact that Tyson scared people because he fought like an animal; Pacquiao fights so intellectually and F-A-S-T that it's gotta be a completely different (and more complete) fear that the opponent is feeling.
It's nice that this makes for an interesting psychological phenomena to observe; it certainly doesn't make for a good fight...
Didn't see the fight...no HBO, not that I could've stayed up that late anyway.
Nice thing about Tyson was his bouts were usually pretty quick.
I also wonder what happened to the crime rate in the USA when Tyson fought. In Manny's homeland, it apparently goes to zilch, though as a new member of congress, he'll have other opportunities to commit crimes.
With Tyson, it probably went down in this country too when he fought in America, as at least he wasn't out there committing a crime.
I do like that Manny and his 200 member entourage flew to Tahoe after the fight, so Manny could keep his gig singing in a lounge casino.
Hey Baseball Crank, while you were getting ready for spring training the Wildcats posted a 90-42 win over Idaho State today.
ReplyDeleteAnd the game was not as close as the score would indicate.
